QPAC is a centre for performing arts in Queensland, and is located at the Cultural Centre in Brisbane. QPAC was opened in 1985, and hosts and showcases a variety of performances including operas, ballets, theatre and drama, orchestra and musical concerts. QPAC has four main performance spaces -- The Lyric Theatre, The Concert Hall, The Playhouse and The Cremorne Theatre.
Some of the famous shows including the Lion King and Verdi's Otello (based on Shakespear's Othello) have been played at the QPAC. In 2013, I went to see Otello at the Lyric Theatre, and in 2014 I went to see Mozart's Requiem performed by students from the UQ School of Music (the UQ Student Orchestra) at the Concert Hall. Both the performances were splendid!
In October 2015, Preeti and I went for Kakadu, a performance by the UQ School of Music Symphony Orchestra. We were mesmerized by the performance by UQ students, and totally enjoyed the experience.
QPAC also hosts several shows as part of the Brisbane Festival in September each year. In November 2015, the internationally acclaimed Les Miserables will be shown at QPAC.
